Day 4, courtesy of Katie Pursley and the rest of the girls

12 Jul

A note from the desk of Josh:

Hi, guys. I’m pretty much taking a break from the blog tonight. I’m beat. I figured we hadn’t had much in the way of info coming from the girls, so I pawned the blog off on Katie Pursley and the rest of them tonight. The bulk of the message will be from her. I just wanted to push along the message that our kids are ok. We’re paying extremely close attention to liquid intake and how exhausted they are in the heat. To the best of my knowledge, heat exhaustion related incidents have been extremely limited; there hasn’t been an epidemic. If you’ve been trying to get in touch with them during the day and haven’t been able to get through, it’s because they don’t have their phones on the work site. Sass has his phone and can be reached all the time. The Crew Chiefs at all sites are watching our kids and will get in touch with us immediately if they need to. Also, a note to Marci: Chase would like to know how Ruby K is doing. And now, without further ado, Katie Pursley.

World Changers. WOW. The past three days have been some of the most exhausting and action packed days our youth have seen all summer!Ā  After a 12 hour ride we finally got to St. Louis and checked into our room, which is of course really messy. We have already met a ton of new people and our crews are AMAZING! My crew is absolutely hilarious! The Crow Bars ( my crew ) consists of a young lad who likes to nap in a wheel barrow instead of work, a 21 year old army guy named Aaron who prefers the name Larz and never takes his sun glasses off ( literally he even takes a shower with his shades on ), 2 hilarious Indians ( people from Indiana ), 2 shy girls from Illinois and Mississippi, oh and Kyle.Ā  We are already getting closer as the week goes on. Although it is ridiculously hot, I can feel God working in my life as well as the people on my crew. Everyone please pray for the residents of the houses we are working on as well as their neighbors! And please pray for our safety as we continue to work in 104 degree weather on a 120 degree roof!

Tonight was the Concert of prayer. We heard about the student’s role in the great awakening and other revivals around the US which inspired prayer for God to use us not only to impact the people of St. Louis but also as for a catalyst for change back home in Georgia.

We ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers while we serve the Lord in St. Louis and that God will not only work through us but in us as well. GO JESUS! šŸ™‚ haha. Please feel free to encourage us while we are here by sending encouragrams to us, which we usually receive every night. Marci Wooster, I would really appreciate an encouragram from you! šŸ™‚ haha . . . Oh and the worship has been extremely amazing! – yeah that’s what Lauren Burnam thinks šŸ™‚

Really God has been working so much the past few days. God has revealed many things to me and I know others have seen His work also. Thanks so much to all of those who supported us and sent us here. World Changers is CHANGING OUR WORLD! šŸ™‚

number 1. chase—Ruby K is great. She is growing well. She’s still on the small side in pounds—only 14.9 (which is in the 11%). No teeth yet. No words yet either, just babbling. But I’m pretty sure she said “chase” the other day…..totatlly kidding. šŸ™‚ Number 2: Katherine Pursley. I sent one to you this afternoon. I guess it just hasn’t been printed for you yet. I sent it at 3:30pm. You should be getting it soon. I’ve been sending them in waves. You older girls were in the final waves. Number 3. Concert of prayer is one of my favorite nights at WC!!! It is always a great experience and world changing for everyone invovled. Number 4. Tomorrow is your half day!!!!!! YEAAAAHHHHH!!!! AND it’s supposed to be a little cooler for all of you! Double Yay!!! Have a great time seeing the sites in St.Louis and I can’t wait for the update tomorrow!!! Oh yeah…Katie? Remember playing “black magic” outside chili’s in Baton Rouge??? that was great. šŸ™‚ Think hard. you’ll get it. šŸ™‚

Reading the Blog and Updates each Day provides a WOW Moment for us in GA. We Praise God for what He is doing in and through our young people and their leaders in St. Louis. We truly serve an AWESOME and WONDERFUL God. . Remember WFBC Crew that when you fully trust Him and lean on Him for guidance, reassurance, and all of your needs, He will meet them EVERY time. When we feel as if we are at the lowest of our low, just call on Him and He will hear your cry. The book of Psalms is about people calling on our Awesome Father. Our God is a need meeter and a way maker and He is truly, truly, Awe-Inspiring!
We love you ALL and are praying as hearts are being changed and molded every day!
